Moving large sofas may need additional thinking
Generally, moving large sofas that are too big to fit through the front door takes preparation, care and skill!
What do you do?
Undoubtedly you have paid a substantial amount of your hard earned money for this item. To begin with you don’t want to damage it and here lies the problem. How do you move it without damage?
Protect the sofa
You can protect the sofa with specialist covers, sometimes its better to blanket and shrink wrap to enable a better grip. Either way you will need to make sure the fabric or leather does not come into contact with the ground, floors, walls or fences.
Have an alternative plan
It may be that the sofa has to be carried around the rear of the property, over wall or fences. See if you can remove the cushions to make it lighter? also check for zips on the base cloth. It may be that the arm unbolts from the frame? Usually with 13mm headed bolts that can be tricky to get at.
